the patch
At the beginning of every summer, we wake up at 5am, and drive to the patch. We get there right as it opens, even before most of the employees.
We are serious about our blueberry picking. We stock up for a year of blueberry usage. It's no cute-sy outing like you see on these beautiful lifestyle blogs. No overalls & rain boots, no photoshoots. It's a down-to-business, defeat the Huns type of serious I'm talking about.
We pick for hours. Pick for hours. No sitting out for this team.
We clean the six foot tall, four foot wide bushes of all they've got to offer... and move to the next row. Row after row.
Now we have a deep freeze half filled with bags of frozen blueberries.
This ain't no game, people.
Olaf got stung by a wasp. I also hit her in the head with my dslr (results pictured above). And on top of all that, she has the worst allergies at this time of year (quite hilarious, actually).
She recovers well, don't you say?
